"The entire ocean. The entire wo'ld.
Wherever we want to go, we'll
go. That's what a ship is, you know.
It's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what
a ship needs but what a ship is...
what the Black Pearl really is... is freedom."

| Wandering Dolphin under sail in the Turks and Caicos 2008. |
Wandering Dolphin
Is a 47 foot custom built aluminum cutter.
She was designed by legendary race boat designer Gary Mull and built by Steven's Boatworks in
Nova Scotia. She has a very unique flush deck design that gives her a lot of room below as well as exceptional safety
at sea. She draws almost seven feet so she goes to windward like a witch. Her cutter rig allows for a variety of
choices in sailplans. She is equiped with a watermaker, liferaft, 406 EPIRB, two dingys, tandem kayak, wind generator and
gas generator and an auxillary Perkins diesel engine.
She underwent an extensive refit in 2005. During that
time we added a custom built Aluminum bow pulpit, and radar arch which are integral to the hull and provide us with a built
in Bimini and dingy davits.
Accomodations:
She has two aft staterooms, the port stateroom has bunk beds and the
starboard has a double berth. There are also two pilot berths in the salon and the table drops to make an additional bed.
There is a very roomy head and a V-berth as well. Her cockpit is roomy but yet small enough to be safe on long offshore
passages.
Wandering Dolphin has taken us up and down the East Coast of the USA and on multiple trips to the Bahamas.
We have sailed her to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. In coming years it is our intention
to sail her around the world!
